DUAPLATE
Base Material
Duaplate is a clad plate manufactured by welding an abrasion resistant material to a steel base. The standart base material is AS3678 1990 250 (ASTM A36) Ssteel.
This can be changed to suit your operating environment
Overlay Material
Complies with the requirement of AS 2576-2355
The overlay material is an austentic chronium carbide iron.
The microstructure of this material consist of primary M7C3 Carbides in an eutectic matrix of austenite and carbide.
Good general abrasion resistance is proved by the hard chromium carbaides protecting the matrix from abrasive wear.
Typical Chemical Analysis (Key Elements)
C:4.0
Cr : 32
MN : 2.2
Si : 0.8
Bulk Hardness 650HV (50)
Matrix Hardness 565 HV (0.05)
Typical Carbide Hardness 1100-1500 HV
Volume Fraction Primary Carbides 20%
Welding
Duaplate can geenrally be welded in the same manner as the base material, provide care is taken to aviud contact with the overlay material when laying down structural welds. For further informations contact your nearest Breadken branch
